How the calculator works.
It prices your ground the way a real quotation does, in layers. Area in square feet times the turf rate for your tier, plus infill, plus base preparation for your land condition. Then fencing and floodlights as project sums that scale with the perimeter and the number of masts rather than the area. The bands behind it are the 2026 rates from the football turf cost guide.
- Turf: ₹60 to ₹90 per sq ft by dtex tier, 50 mm pile, FIFA Quality or Quality Pro systems.
- Infill: ₹10 to ₹30 per sq ft for silica sand and SBR rubber. Non-infill systems skip this line.
- Base: ₹80 to ₹130 per sq ft depending on land. Zero if you are laying on level, sound concrete.
- Fencing: from ₹1 lakh for a small ground, scaling with perimeter.
- Floodlights: from ₹3 lakh for pole lights on a 5-a-side, up to mast arrays on a full pitch.
What the number does not include.
An estimate is not a quotation. It cannot see your land. Things that change the final price once we visit the site: rock or fill that changes excavation, access for machinery, existing drainage, an existing boundary wall that replaces fencing, and how far the site is from Surat, which affects freight for turf, aggregate and crews. Goals, dugouts, a scoreboard and a changing room are extra and quoted separately.
Reading your estimate.
If your all-in number for a 5-a-side lands under ₹16 lakh, check the base line. A ground on firm, flat land with an existing wall can get there, but most sites cannot, and a quotation that gets there by thinning the base is the one that floods in the first monsoon. If it lands above ₹31 lakh, you are either on difficult land or have specified 18K turf with a full lighting array, both of which are legitimate choices for the right use.
The per-sq-ft figure the calculator shows is the honest way to compare quotations. Ask every supplier for the same five lines. If a quote is cheaper, it will be cheaper on one of them, and that line tells you what you are giving up.

How accurate is the estimate?
Within about 15 percent for a typical site. The turf, infill and lighting lines are close to a real quotation. The base line depends on what is under your ground, which only a site visit can confirm.
What size should I enter for a 5-a-side?
The playing area is about 25 by 16 metres. Add 2 to 3 metres of run-off on each side and you are at 30 by 20 metres, which is the preset. Fencing sits at the run-off edge.
Does it include GST?
No. Add 18 percent GST to the material and installation lines for a final invoice figure.
