A different discipline
Sport turf is engineered for the ball. Decorative turf is engineered for the eye, and for the dog, and the kids, and the maintenance bill. The yarn profile is softer. The colours mix natural greens with brown thatch fibres. The pile heights run longer. The infill is sand-only or none.
Get the spec wrong and the lawn looks like an astroturf carpet. Get it right and the client's mother visits and asks "who's been doing your lawn?" That's the bar.

The single most important spec decision. Higher = more realistic, lower = more durable. Here's where each application sits.
Our pet-friendly turf uses antimicrobial PE yarn with a perforated drainage backing. Urine drains through; odour doesn't build up. Yarn is soft on paws but resistant to chew and dig. It's the surface used by kennels, breeders, and pet hotels who'd rip out a normal lawn in three months.

3 or 4-tone yarn blends, two greens, one olive, one brown thatch, so the lawn never reads as a single flat shade. The thatch fibre adds the "lived-in" texture.

Indian sun is the test. Our yarn is UV-stabilised to a minimum 10-year warranty. After 5,000 hours of accelerated UV testing the colour drop is under 5%.

Decorative lawns die at the edges. We supply timber-trim profiles, aluminium edging, or paver-flush installation guides depending on the surround. Edge tape and pegs included.

Most decorative lawns are non-infill. Putting greens need silica sand. Pet runs use coated zeolite (kills odour). We match the infill to use, never specify infill that ruins the brief.

Pet runs and kids' play areas require lead-free yarn. We provide third-party heavy metal testing on every batch, REACH SVHC certified, safe to chew, safe to roll in.

Base construction · Landscape systems
A surface is only as good as what it sits on. ILAN now builds the base as part of the project, so one team owns levels, drainage, tolerances and the surface on top. Layer thicknesses are finalised after our site survey and soil check.
Topsoil and vegetation removed, 75–100 mm deep, formation trimmed to a gentle fall.
Compacted crushed stone 50–75 mm with a fine grit blinding for a smooth, free-draining bed.
Timber, paver or concrete edging so the grass has a firm line to finish against.
On concrete, tile or podium decks, no excavation: we clean, check falls and lay directly.
