Two layers, two jobs. Silica sand goes in first: it ballasts the carpet, holds the fibres upright and forms the base of the infill. SBR rubber goes on top: it gives the cushioning, the ball behaviour and the shock absorption the FIFA test measures. Get the depths wrong and the pitch plays wrong, whatever the turf cost.
What we supply.
| Product | Pack | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Silica sand, rounded grain | 50 kg bags | Ballast on all infill systems; dressing on hybrid, tennis and multi-sport turf |
| SBR rubber granules, black | 35 kg bags | Performance infill on football and multi-sport turf |
| Coloured EPDM granules | By weight | Poured surfaces: tracks, playgrounds, courts. A separate product, see EPDM |
How much you need.
Depth depends on the system: a 50 mm football turf typically takes 15 to 18 kg of sand and 8 to 10 kg of rubber per sq m; a 35 mm hybrid takes sand only, dressed. We compute the tonnage from your area and system with every quotation, and we supply infill on its own for top-ups and for grounds we did not build. Infill sits at ₹10 to ₹30 per sq ft installed.
Questions, asked often.
Can I buy infill without turf?
Yes. Top-ups are the most common infill order. Tell us the area and the system and we ship the tonnage.
Is SBR safe?
SBR is the standard infill on FIFA-tested systems worldwide. Where a client prefers a non-rubber system we specify sand-dressed hybrid or non-infill turf instead.
Why rounded sand?
Angular sand locks up and abrades the fibre. Rounded grain stays free-draining and brushes evenly.
