Supply & installation of the Classic padel court, tempered-glass back walls with galvanised steel mesh along the sides and corners. A rugged, cost-efficient 20 m × 10 m double court that still plays to tournament spec, ideal for schools, academies, community courts and high-traffic public facilities.

Classic court · colour option shown
Open glass back-walls with a reduced support structure deliver an unobstructed spectator view and the World Padel Tour competition standard that elevates any venue.
Court turf is available in the following standard colours. Final colour to be confirmed on order.

The Classic uses the heaviest steel in the padel range, double-column corner posts and raised posts in 50 × 100 × 3 mm at H4000, with glass back walls and steel mesh sides. It is the build for venues that want maximum structural margin and are comfortable with visible structure.
Glass back walls with steel mesh sides.
20 m × 10 m playing area, identical across all three ILAN padel builds.
Clubs and academies prioritising structural robustness and cost-efficiency, indoor venues, high-turnover public courts.
If broadcast sightlines or a fully-glazed presentation matter more than structural mass, look at Panoramic or Ultra Panoramic.
/ Across the range
All three play to the same 20 × 10 m court with the same 12 mm tempered glass. What changes is the structure around it, and therefore the sightlines and the price.
| Build | Enclosure | Structure | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | Glass back walls + steel mesh sides | 50 x 100 x 3 mm, double-column corners | Heaviest structure |
| Panoramic | Panoramic glazing, reduced structure | 50 x 100 x 3 mm posts and beams | Balanced sightlines and cost |
| Ultra Panoramic | Full-height glazing, minimal structure | Beam-carried: 50 x 100 x 2.5 mm beams | Most open presentation |
/ Site requirements
Padel is less forgiving than most surfaces because the ball plays off the glass. These are the things worth checking before you commit.
A padel court is 20 m × 10 m of playing area, but the built footprint is larger, you need clearance around the enclosure for access, maintenance and, on outdoor courts, the light poles. We confirm the required plot at survey.
Outdoor courts need clear height above the enclosure. Indoor and covered courts need considerably more, the ball is played off the back glass and over the net, so low ceilings change the game. Confirm ceiling height before committing to an indoor build.
A level, load-bearing base laid to fall, in concrete or asphalt depending on the site. Flatness tolerance matters more on padel than on most surfaces because the ball rebounds off the glass.
Outdoor courts need the base to drain and the falls to carry water off the playing area. The turf is porous; the base underneath has to take the water somewhere.
LED lighting is 200 W per fixture, eight fixtures per court as standard. Supply, cabling routes and switching are planned at survey.
Glass panels are 1995 × 2995 mm and heavy. Delivery access, craneage or manual handling routes need checking before installation is scheduled, particularly on rooftops and podiums.
ILAN supplies and installs. This is the sequence a turnkey court follows on site.
Survey and setting-out
We survey the plot, confirm the footprint, check levels and falls, and set out the court. Padel is unforgiving of an out-of-square base because the glass has to sit true.
Base check
The concrete or asphalt base is laid to fall and cured by our civil team. We check flatness against tolerance before anything is erected, corrections happen here, not later.
Structure erection
Posts, beams and net-frame tube set out, plumbed and bolted. All connecting bolts are 304 stainless steel so they do not seize or corrode.
Mesh panels
Welded wire mesh panels fixed to the frame, 46 panels per court at 2000 × 1000 mm, 4 mm wire on a 50 × 50 mm aperture, wire ends protected against snagging.
Glass installation
18 tempered safety glass panels, 12 mm thick at 1995 × 2995 mm, set with rubber grommets and gaskets into glass-hole connectors. This stage decides whether the court looks right.
Turf laying
Padel turf rolled, cut and joined with pile direction matched. Sand-dressed to the specified rate.
Net and lighting
Net posts set with cable tensioner, centre net hung and tensioned. LED fixtures mounted, aimed and tested against the target illumination.
Brushing, testing and handover
Sand brushed in, glass cleaned, structure and fixings checked, lighting verified, then handover with a care brief.
Turf, structure and glass each want a slightly different check. None of it takes long.
Brush the turf to keep sand distributed and the pile standing, especially at the service boxes and net line where play concentrates.
Clean the glass, check panel fixings and rinse the turf to clear dust.
Check sand infill depth and top up. Inspect the steel structure, bolts, net tension and lighting fixings, salt air accelerates everything on coastal sites.
Re-tension the net, replace worn fixings, spot-repair turf damage. Individual glass panels can be replaced without dismantling the court.
Because the structure carries more of the load. Classic uses 3 mm wall sections and double-column corners; the panoramic builds move load into beams so the uprights can be lighter and less visible. Neither is "stronger" in service, they solve the same problem differently.
The court is 20 m × 10 m. The plot needs to be larger to allow access around the enclosure and space for light poles. Send us the available area and we will confirm whether it fits before you commit to anything.
Explosion-proof tempered safety glass, 12 mm thick, in 1995 × 2995 mm panels, 18 panels per court. Identical across all three ILAN padel builds; what changes between them is how much steel sits around it.
Eight 200 W LED sports fixtures as standard, giving roughly 600 lux. Alternative configurations are quoted on request if you need tournament-level illumination or have unusual mounting constraints.
The court system is the same. What changes is everything around it: outdoor needs drainage, weather-facing finishes and lighting design; indoor needs adequate ceiling height. Our posts and beams are electrostatic powder-coated for anti-corrosion, which matters most on coastal sites.
A dedicated padel turf from Bellinturf or CCGrass, sand-dressed, chosen for grip, glide and how the ball comes off the wall. Six colours are available, shown on this page.
The base drives the programme far more than the court does. On a sound existing slab erection moves quickly; a build needing excavation, concrete and curing runs considerably longer. We give a schedule with the quotation once the site has been surveyed.
Yes, court systems, turf and glass are supplied to builders and operators developing padel venues, without installation if you have your own crews. See the padel builders page.
