/ The heights

Choosing
a pile height.

35 mm
The flagship height

The classic lawn height with UltraPro’s 24-stitch construction, the densest face in the range. The only height offered in both 3-Tone and 4-Tone colourways, so it suits everything from bright contemporary gardens to natural-look lawns.

40 mm
The mid plush

Visibly fuller from standing height while staying easy to keep upright. Supplied in the 3-Tone colourway, a bright, even blend for family lawns and courtyards that see daily use.

45 mm
The deep plush

Deep enough to sink into, held dense by the 24 /10 cm stitch rate. Supplied in the 4-Tone colourway with brown thatch fibres for the most natural read of the three.

Where this collection
sits.

All three ILAN landscape collections share UV-stabilised yarn and a perforated free-draining backing. Yarn weight, density and backing build are what separate them.

Installation.

ILAN supplies and installs. This is the sequence a landscape grass project follows on site.

01

Site measure

We measure the area, check falls and drainage, and look at what the grass is going onto, soil, concrete, tile or deck. Roll direction is planned here: all pile on a job runs the same way, or joints read as colour changes.

02

Base check

We build the base where the site needs one: excavation, compacted stone base, drainage and edging, checked for level and falls. Over existing concrete, tile or other hard surfaces we check the surface and falls instead.

03

Edge restraint

Perimeter edging is fixed so the grass has something to be secured and trimmed against, timber, aluminium or the existing hard edge.

04

Laying and acclimatising

Rolls are set out and left to relax so the backing loses roll memory before it is cut and joined.

05

Jointing

Seams joined on jointing tape with adhesive, pile direction matched across the joint. Done properly a joint is invisible from standing height.

06

Trimming and fixing

Edges cut to the perimeter and fixed down, following the edging so the finish reads deliberate.

07

Infill and brushing

Ballast spread where the specification calls for it, then the pile power-brushed upright. Brushing is what makes a new lawn look finished rather than flat.

Care & maintenance.

Landscape grass replaces mowing, watering and seasonal patching. What little it needs takes minutes.

Weekly
Weekly

Brush or sweep the pile upright on the routes that get walked most, and clear leaves before they mat down.

Monthly
Monthly

Rinse with water to clear dust. The perforated backing drains freely, so washing carries dust through rather than pooling it.

Seasonally
Seasonally

Check infill where it was specified and top up. Inspect seams and edges for lifting, especially after monsoon.

As needed
As needed

Spot-clean spills with mild soap and water. Pet areas rinse clean. Localised damage is repaired by cutting in a patch rather than relaying.

Asked
often.

Why is UltraPro more expensive than the other collections?
Yarn weight. At 7300 DTEX there is substantially more material in every filament than in a 6300 or 6000 DTEX product, and the densities run higher too. That is what you feel underfoot and what resists splitting under sun and traffic over years.
Do all three heights use the same yarn?
Yes, 7300 DTEX across the range. What changes is pile depth and density, and density rises with height (14,900 at 25 mm up to 18,900 at 50 mm and 20,900 at 60 mm) so the taller piles have enough neighbouring yarn to stay upright.
Which height should I choose?
Traffic decides it. 25 and 35 mm for lawns that get walked on daily, 40 and 45 mm for premium residential, 50 and 60 mm for showcase and hospitality spaces that are experienced rather than crossed. Each height has its own page with a full breakdown.
What does 4 Layer Backing actually mean?
Four bonded layers rather than the usual two: the primary cloth the tufts are stitched through, the reinforcing layers that lock those stitches, and the coating that binds the assembly. More layers means tuft-bind holds when the surface is brushed, walked and cleaned.
Is UltraPro suitable for pets and children?
Yes. The backing is perforated and free-draining, so pet areas rinse clean. For heavy pet use the shorter heights stay tidier than 50 or 60 mm.
Will a deep pile flatten where furniture sits?
It lays over under sustained weight, as any deep pile does, and lifts with a stiff brush. Rotating furniture positions occasionally keeps the surface even.
Can UltraPro be used for sports?
No. It is a landscape and decorative grass. Sports surfaces use different yarn shape, pile and infill and carry federation testing, see the football, cricket, hockey and multi-sport ranges.
What is confirmed per order?
Yarn shape, roll width and length, total weight and written warranty terms. These are set per order rather than fixed on the site, ask for the current technical data sheet.

Base construction · Landscape systems

We build the base too.

A surface is only as good as what it sits on. ILAN now builds the base as part of the project, so one team owns levels, drainage, tolerances and the surface on top. Layer thicknesses are finalised after our site survey and soil check.

/ 01 · Excavation

Topsoil and vegetation removed, 75–100 mm deep, formation trimmed to a gentle fall.

/ 02 · Stone base

Compacted crushed stone 50–75 mm with a fine grit blinding for a smooth, free-draining bed.

/ 03 · Edging

Timber, paver or concrete edging so the grass has a firm line to finish against.

/ 04 · Over hard surfaces

On concrete, tile or podium decks, no excavation: we clean, check falls and lay directly.
