Lush, full-bodied lawn.
At 40 mm the pile reads full and green from every angle. A popular choice where the lawn is the feature of the space and appearance matters as much as durability.
A vibrant green finish with a natural appearance, our best-value choice for outdoor landscaping. Supplied and installed by ILAN for landscaping and decorative use, this is a landscape grass, not a sports surface.

/ Where it works
Pure Green at 40 mm is specified most often for the following landscape and decorative applications.
/ Specification
Yarn shape, roll dimensions, total weight and warranty terms are set per order, ask us for the current technical data sheet.
/ The 40 mm character
40 mm adds visible depth over 35 mm at the same 6300 DTEX yarn and 14,900 density. The pile reads noticeably fuller from standing height while staying practical.
Soft and deeper, with a slightly longer recovery than 35 mm.
Good. Suited to gardens in regular use; brushing keeps the pile upright on the walked routes.
Premium residential lawns, landscaped setbacks, terrace gardens, hospitality landscaping on a budget.
Narrow high-traffic corridors, where a shorter pile stays tidier with less brushing.
/ How it is built
Four things account for how a landscape grass performs over years rather than months.
DTEX measures the mass of the yarn, how much material sits in each filament. At 6300 the Pure Green filament is built for everyday landscape duty; the Ultra Soft range runs 7300 for projects that need more body underfoot.
The yarn is UV stabilised so colour holds under direct Indian sun rather than drifting toward grey. This is the single biggest factor in how a lawn looks in year three versus year one, and it is standard across every ILAN collection.
Four bonded layers rather than the usual two: the primary cloth the tufts are stitched through, the reinforcing layers that lock those stitches, and the coating that binds the assembly. More layers means tuft-bind holds when the surface is brushed, walked and cleaned.
The backing is perforated so rain and washdown water pass straight through to the sub-base instead of pooling. On a correctly prepared base the surface is usable again shortly after heavy rain.
Yarn shape, roll dimensions, total weight and written warranty are confirmed per order, ask for the current technical data sheet.
/ Across the collection
All Pure Green heights share the same 6300 DTEX yarn. Pile depth, density and backing build are what change.
| Height | DTEX | Density | Backing | Character |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 35 mm | 6300 | 14,900 | 4 Layer | The everyday lawn |
| 40 mm | 6300 | 14,900 | 4 Layer | The fuller finish |
ILAN supplies and installs. This is the sequence a 40 mm Pure Green lawn follows on site.
Site measure
We measure the area, check falls and drainage, and confirm what the grass is going onto. Roll direction is planned here, all pile on a job runs the same way, or joints read as colour changes.
Base check
We build the base and check it for level, falls and drainage before anything is laid. Base and civil works are carried out by our own civil team, so the base is ready when the surface arrives.
Edge restraint
Perimeter edging fixed so the grass has something to be secured and trimmed against.
Laying and acclimatising
Rolls set out and left to relax so the backing loses roll memory before it is cut and joined.
Jointing
Seams joined on jointing tape with adhesive, pile direction matched across the joint. Done properly a joint is invisible from standing height.
Trimming and fixing
Edges cut to the perimeter and fixed down, following the edging so the finish reads deliberate.
Infill and brushing
Ballast spread where specified, then the pile power-brushed upright. Brushing is what makes a new lawn look finished rather than flat.
